Life seems determined to constantly throw up new types of pain if you are woman. Throughout their lives, many women are lucky enough not to suffer from period pains but menstrual cramps can be something they start to experience when they reach the menopause. Other contributing factors which can increase the problem are PCOS and also endometriosis both of which affect approximately 10 percent of women. Some women experience such severe pains they are not even able to leave their bed.

Menstrual Cramp

While a number of remedies available claim they will give menstrual cramp relief, it is the reliability of these drugs that often causes a problem. The most obvious answer is to take one in pill form which also seems to be the most common method. A tablet by the name of ‘Pamprin’ is used by many women who say it works wonders for them, possibly because it was formulated for just that one reason. Although many women prefer not to take any form of medication, this does you no credit if you cannot do anything for days each month.

Perhaps you feel that you’re meant to experience this stomach pain but that isn’t the case. To make matters worse, the cramps are only part of the problem if you are one of those individuals who also has to put up with nausea and a constant bloated feeling. On a personal level, I was just tired of the cramping pains and decided to source an effective menstrual cramp relief solution. Another problem is the irregularity because some months it feels as if I am being given a bear hug and others where there is no discomfort at all.

I have tried all sorts including quite recently a heat pad which seems to work but I do have to vary where I position it for it to be effective. This can be a good alternative to pain relief pills if you find they are ineffective or you just prefer not to take them. While these ideas may be ok for some women, others that have regular painful menstrual cramps each month may need to do something more permanent. Of course, this is more likely if you have to call in sick each month because the stomach pains are so intense.

Of course you could try speaking to your doctor to see what thoughts he or she has on menstrual cramp relief remedies, especially if it causing you problems in addition to pain. Many women find that the birth control pill is an answer and the doctor may even suggest this remedy if they know you are not currently taking it. If you are trying to get pregnant this will obviously be out of the question but this is not the only remedy your doctor will discuss with you. You will eventually find a remedy that works for you; it is just a matter of time.
